I had so much fun doing this first birthday photo session for one of my favorite little clients! I have been taking pictures of this baby girl ever since she was a newborn, and I love it every time she comes to my Maryland photography studio. She is such a sweetheart!

We did a super fun custom rainbow setup to celebrate the special day. When it comes to birthdays, my view is: the more balloons, the better!

The rainbow wasn’t the only part of our photo session that was custom made. The birthday girl’s dress was also made especially for these pictures. Isn’t it adorable?

And, of course, what birthday could be complete without cake? Cake smash photography is a very popular option for baby’s first birthday photos. A lot of times this is the first they’ve been introduced to that much sugar, and you never quite know what kind of a reaction you’re going to get! Some babies love it and dive right in, and others take a while to warm up to the idea. This cutie pie was very interested in the rainbow cake topper!

This little girl is such a sweet, happy baby. Having photographed her all the way through that first year, it was wonderful to help celebrate her first birthday.
