Have I mentioned lately how much I love doing newborn photography sessions? Working with these little ones is my favorite thing to do, and I feel so blessed to be entrusted with capturing this special stage of life.

This little boy was such a sweetheart! So precious and sleepy. I allow lots of time for newborn photography so that we have plenty of wiggle room in case baby is feeling fussy. In the case of this little guy, totally not needed. He was an absolute champ and did such a good job.

When it comes to my style as a newborn photographer, I am definitely a minimalist at heart. My feeling is that your baby should be the focus of these photos. Of course I have lot of props and fun backdrops in my Maryland photography studio. But looking at the photos of this cutie, you can see that props really are just an extra–and you don’t need them to get adorable baby pictures.

We decided to keep things simple for this session and really just highlight the star of the show! With a face as cute as that, what else do you really need?
