Absolutely loved doing these newborn and family photos! Mom and Dad are close family friends, so it was extra special to have them in the studio with both of their kiddos. I was so excited when I learned they were expecting another baby. Even more excited when they asked me to do a newborn and family photo shoot for them!

This little guy was the cutest thing ever. So contented–especially when he was swaddled. Look at that sweet smile! I love the fluffy textures we used for our newborn portraits.

Anybody else a sucker for teddy bears? I know I am! It doesn’t get much cuter than a baby in a bear hat, or with a tiny teddy bear that’s just the right size for newborn hands.

It’s up to you whether you want your little one’s session to focus exclusively on them, or whether you want it to be a family affair. I think it’s great when people want to do newborn and family photos! Capturing the relationship with your brand new baby is the best.

I often start out with swaddled shots, since babies almost always love it. Once we’ve gotten those picture, we can move on to some different poses. In this case, we got little man all settled in one of my rustic bucket props.
